Default Bots Spamming Cheat site in PvP areas. UGH!

I just noticed this today and I'm pretty sure it is a bot since they're everywhere in the PvP areas and always say the same thing so rapidly that it floods the local chat.

I'm not going to post the website that they are all spamming since that would only add to the problem. I will say that they are all spamming the same one.

What I would like to do is issue a warning. This site offers several downloads and they are almost certainly keyloggers. Don't pay any attention to them and just hope Anet comes down hard and bans every one of them.

I worry that this won't solve the problem though, since most likely those bots are all run on accounts they have stolen from people who downloaded their software. Usually my attitude is that if you are stupid enough to download something from a site like that, (with the intention to cheat, I might add) then you deserve what is coming to you. I more or less feel that way now, but at the same time I don't want the people running the site to profit off of an idiot's misfortune.

That site needs to be shut down.

PM me the site and I might just crash it plus destroy the people who run its home computers. I might also change the downloads so that they reformat the downloaders computer (gots to punish the attempted cheaters).

Yep, I did that after he spammed L.A. I got response from Anet within about 5 minutes so hopefully they are banned soon. Sadly he/she will probably be back with any number of stolen accounts they might obtain.

I have no sympathy for stupid people who have no common sense in downloading stuff they have no idea where or how it was produced in the hope of getting something done far more quickly or easily when related to gaming.

If you get key logged, then it's your own fault for being dense.

It says no downloading this software on the Login Screen, and if you decide not to heed these words, then expect your account to be stolen.

Nuff said.

P.S. Only keylogging I hate is the one where you go to a website you think is legit, when it looks so much like a Real Legit website. That just sucks. That is the only sympathy I have, because it's so easy to come across those websites if you don't know what you are looking for.

Remember people that keyloggers also come with attribute calculators and other third party software! I consider 'attribute calculators' legitimate.

In any case; definitely report it to Anet

EmperorTippy: illegal. You don't get to decide which site 'deserves' it, there's never any legal ground for taking the law into your own hand. I seriously advise you to abandon the 'l33t script kiddie' attitude, even if you think you're Robin Hood.

Amen Silmor.

BTW, it takes 2 seconds and half a junkie to protect to a point where you won't get into my site, ever.

About keyloggers... come on guys... Spybot, Ad Aware, Giant AS, anyone? Even AVAST antivirus finds and removes keyloggers. That's all freeware. If you're concerned about anyone doing unwanted access to the net, mount a firewall (sygate is free). There, no one's stealing my account.

Oh, keyloggers are not illegal. In many countries not even viruses are. And there is nothing untraceable. Guys, we're talking computers. If one knows what he's doing, one has complete control over one's own machine. If one knows not, find someone who does. I'm ready to back this up anytime, I'll leave my PC on and you're welcome to try and hose it. More power to you if you can.

BTW if your not in law enforcment, a lawyer, a judge, someone intimatly familar with the law, or someone making the laws I don't really care what your opinion is.

Just to point out, that shooting someones head of might be legal in the US, but this doesn't account for other countries around the world, so don't think what you are thinking off doing is also going to be allowed around the world.

Different laws for different countries.

As for what you are saying, laws are totally different when related to online actions over actions caused by people on other people that is not related to computers and the internet.

As for your threat to lawyers and such, I would be very careful what you say on these Forums, as I would think you're likely to get your self locked out and banned from these boards because of your attitude.

I have no problem with people taking down the illegal internet sites out there, and I know that people do hire High Level Hackers to go in and stop these criminals and cause them headaches, but they are more often than not permitted to do so.

With regards to what you are thinking, I would probably think this will be classed as being illegal in some peoples eyes and could well cause you problems.

What you do with your friends, is entirely up to you. But playing with others, well, I'll leave that to the lawyers and law makers.

It's ok. As to my attitude whats wrong with it? I'm not threating any person specifically. Online law is really fuzzy and I don't really want to wade into it. As for the different laws in different countrys those get really confusing. Please explain my attitude problem as I will attempt to correct it. As for the thing about highering high level hackers to take down illegal sights people do do that but I wouldn't really want to. As you can see by these posts my idea of the law and others tend to clash sometimes. Now so as not to cause any problems from anyone I will wipe all my previous post except the first one on this thread.

The previous posts about this topic have been erased so please don't bring them up outside of a private PM. I didn't mean to sound leet snobby have a bad attitude or an of the other things mentioned. I didn't mean to start an argument on this thread. Sorry for any trouble I may have caused any of you.

Don't worry. I have my own custom worms, viriuses, and trojans to use that no one knows any thing about. They could do this but you are ovbiously new to this thread as all the edited posts of mine are about this and people were complaing about some attitude problem or something and I don't want to start the argument again.
